As the central component of your Pentair IntelliChlor system, the Plus40 Cell is responsible for the electrolytic process that sanitizes your pool water. It uses a series of titanium electrodes to break down salt molecules into chlorine. Over months and years of operation, calcium and other mineral deposits can form on these electrodes, reducing their surface area and efficiency. This scaling not only diminishes the cell's ability to produce chlorine but can eventually lead to complete failure, rendering your salt system ineffective.
If the Pentair IntelliChlor Plus40 Cell is not replaced when it fails, your pool's sanitation will be compromised.
