The Century Motor VLink is essentially the bridge between your Hayward Super II Pump's motor and the impeller. It's designed to withstand the high-speed rotation and the demanding environment of a pool pump. However, like any mechanical part subjected to continuous use and the harsh conditions of pool water, the VLink can degrade. The constant torque and vibration can cause the internal splines or connection points to wear down, leading to a situation where the motor spins, but the impeller doesn't. This wear and tear is a common failure point for many pump motors over their lifespan.
If the VLink fails completely, your pump will stop circulating water, which is critical for filtering and sanitizing your pool. You'll likely notice a complete loss of water flow and pressure.
