The impeller is a crucial component within your Hayward Super II pump, acting as the primary driver for water circulation. It's a rotating component with vanes that, when spun by the motor, create suction to draw water into the pump and then push it out towards your filtration system. As the pump operates, the impeller is constantly in contact with water, which can contain small debris, sand, or chemical residues. This constant exposure, combined with the high-speed rotation, can lead to gradual wear and tear on the impeller's vanes. Over time, these vanes can become eroded, chipped, or clogged with sediment, diminishing their ability to efficiently move water.
