The slinger, or water slinger, is a small but vital part of your Hayward Super II Pump SP3000 Series. Its primary function is to deflect any water that might splash or spray towards the motor shaft, ensuring that moisture does not reach the motor's bearings. These bearings are critical for the smooth and efficient operation of the pump motor. Over time, the slinger can degrade due to constant exposure to water, chemicals, and the heat generated by the pump.
