The drive train of your Hayward Super II pump is the heart of its operation, responsible for transferring power from the motor to the impeller to circulate pool water. Components within this drive train, particularly the shaft seal and motor bearings, are subjected to continuous stress, friction, and the corrosive nature of pool chemicals and water. Over months and years of service, these parts can degrade. The shaft seal, a critical component that prevents water from reaching the motor, can wear down, crack, or become brittle, leading to leaks around the pump shaft.
